Tale Of Us concert postponed due to snow, cold temps at Red Rocks

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Denver area, with 5 to 12 inches of snow expected by Sunday.

DENVER — The first snow of the winter season will keep concertgoers from attending an outdoor show in Denver.

Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre has postponed the Tale Of Us show scheduled for Saturday evening.

“With snow currently sticking to the pavement at Red Rocks and with a winter weather advisory and 6-14 inches of expected snow, for patron safety Tonight’s Tale Of US concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre is postponed,” the concert’s promotor AEG said.  

“Tale Of Us very much wanted to host tonight’s show, however, with the extremely steep roads accessing the stage and the heavy snow coming this afternoon in the foothills for everyone’s safety we made the difficult decision to postpone tonight’s show.”

All tickets will be valid for the to be determined date and refunds are available at point of purchase.

A concert by Madeon on Sunday is still scheduled, as of 2 p.m. Saturday.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Denver area, with 5 to 12 inches of snow the most likely snowfall range across most of the metro area, although snowfall amounts will vary widely across a small area.

Colorado’s mountains are also under a Winter Storm Warning, with up to 24 inches of snow possible in a few areas. Most of the mountains will see between 8 to 18 inches of snow, with strong winds making travel hazardous on Friday night and Saturday in particular. 

More could fall in the foothills, where it’ll be colder and a bit more favored for heavier snow bands.

Owned and operated by the City of Denver, the concert venue at Red Rocks Park has been home to some of the most iconic concerts in history, from artists such as The Beatles, U2 and Sting.

Located just west of the Mile High City, Red Rocks Park features 738 acres of hiking trails, geological wonders and astounding views.
