The recalled percussion massagers were sold by Macy’s, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Lowe’s, JCPenney, The Home Depot and other stores nationwide and online, including Amazon.com, from Sept. 2020 through Nov. 2023 for about $100.
About 46,000 of the recalled massagers were sold in the U.S., with the remaining 41,000 sold in Canada.
The recall includes the Homedics Therapist Select Massagers with the model number HHP-715 that were manufactured before 2023. The manufacturing date can be found underneath the massager’s barrel and is represented by a four-digit code. The last two digits represent the manufacturing year, so only products with a code that end in 20, 21 or 22 are part of the recall.
Homedics has received 17 reports of the massagers overheating, including one instance of a consumer suffering a burn to their thumb, according to the recall.
