There was a large police presence in the area of the AmericInn on Westgate Drive, near the Interstate 25 and CO 392 interchange.
WINDSOR, Colo. — Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies were on the scene of an unspecified “incident” near a motel in Larimer County Sunday afternoon and evening, the Town of Windsor said.
There was a large law enforcement presence in the area of the AmericInn on Westgate Drive, near the Interstate 25 and CO 392 interchange. An officer on the scene told 9NEWS Sunday evening that the scene was “secure.”
Around 4:45 p.m., Weld County sent out an emergency alert to addresses near the interchange. The alert advised people to “shelter in place and avoid the area.”
In a Facebook post around 6:40 p.m., Windsor police asked the public to avoid the area of CO 392 between Larimer County Road 5 / Fairgrounds Avenue and Interstate 25 “while the situation is ongoing.”
Police did not release any further details about the incident.
