The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said an auto theft victim fired the shot in the parking lot of the Walmart at 10900 E. Briarwood Ave.

CENTENNIAL, Colo. — A carjacking victim fired at least one round at their stolen car, causing a commotion at an Arapahoe County Walmart on Tuesday afternoon.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said one of their deputies happened to be at the store on East Briarwood Avenue just off Arapahoe Road and reported seeing people running from the store.

After speaking with people, it was learned a carjacking victim was the one who fired a shot, the sheriff’s office said. The silver Toyota Prius that was stolen got away. A description of the suspect provided by the sheriff’s office was too vague to report.

This is a developing story and this article will be updated as confirmed information becomes available.
