Key players are expected to return for the Rams this weekend when they face the Beavers on the road.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — The bye week seems to have come at a good time on the injury front for the Colorado State football team.

Coach Jay Norvell says several of the key injured Rams are expected to play this week when CSU goes on the road to face Oregon State.

CSU star receiver Tory Horton missed the last game (a win over UTEP) dealing with a groin injury. It also limited him in a loss to Colorado, where he was sat down near halftime because of the injury.

He was initially hurt Sept. 7 against Northern Colorado. Despite missing all or parts of three games, Horton is still CSU’s leading receiver with 120 yards. He also has a punt return touchdown.

CSU safety Jack Howell went down in a big collision late in the UTEP game but is also expected to play. Howell has 28 tackles and three passes broken up this season.

“I think both Tory and Jack are going to be available to play this weekend. They both practiced some (Monday). Hopefully they’ll continue to make good progress,” Norvell said.
