Colorado State Patrol said a driver struck two pedestrians in a bowling alley parking lot Saturday night in Walden.

WALDEN, Colo. — A driver in Walden hit two pedestrians Saturday night, killing one and leaving the other with life-threatening injuries, according to Colorado State Patrol (CSP).

CSP said they responded to a report of a crash involving two pedestrians near Main Street and Highway 125 in Walden, in Jackson County in northern Colorado, a little after 10 p.m. Saturday.

Once they arrived on scene, CSP said troopers determined a Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 21-year-old man from Steamboat was going south on Main Street. The driver was going around a sharp right curve when he drove off the left side of the road into a bowling alley parking lot.

It was there that CSP said the driver hit two pedestrians, as well as parked vehicle. The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with law enforcement, according to CSP.

Both pedestrians are 18-year-old women from Walden who were flown to area hospitals, CSP said. One of the women died, and CSP said the other remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

CSP said they are still investigating cause of this crash, and no charges have been filed at this time.
