DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — A bear was spotted near an elementary school in Douglas County on Monday, prompting the school to be placed on a secure perimeter status for a short time.
The sheriff’s office said the bear was seen near Acres Green Drive and Maximus Drive which is near two parks, Acres Green Park and Lonesome Pine Park. It’s also near Acres Green Elementary School in the area just south of Park Meadow Drive.
