The fire in June impacted dozens of storage units and sent up smoke in the area near Interstate 70 and Wadsworth Boulevard.
ARVADA, Colo. — No one will never know exactly what caused a destructive fire in June that led to burned storage units and substantial smoke and water damage at the StorQuest facility in Arvada.
The fire erupted about 6:15 a.m. June 4 at the facility at 8495 N. Interstate 70 Frontage Road, near the intersection of I-70 and Wadsworth Boulevard. Flames sent up large plumes of smoke that caused some visibility issues for drivers on I-70.
On Friday, an Arvada Fire Department spokesperson said the investigation into the fire has concluded and the cause has been ruled “undetermined.”
Deanna Harrington, public information officer for Arvada Fire, said investigators found too many potential starting points and could not isolate the main cause.
Fire crews rushed to the scene and spent the majority of the day and night putting out hotspots at the facility, where it was deemed 78 storage units were impacted either by flames or water and smoke damage.
Some renters of units lost valuables including bedroom sets and comic book collections.
