Many areas of the Front Range and foothills saw snow Thursday night and into Friday morning.

DENVER — Snow fell across the Denver metro area and the northern Front Range on Thursday night into Friday morning, causing slick driving conditions and some winter white to kick off the holiday season.

Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories have been posted for a great deal of the state through Saturday. As this system continues to move off to the east on Sunday, sunshine returns but highs stay in the chilly 30s. Sunshine continues with slow warming as we begin next week.

Denver International Airport had 1.2 inches as of 5 a.m. Friday, while the western suburbs and mountain towns saw a few inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.
