Ed Greene retires from 9NEWS, ending 47-year Denver TV career

Ed Greene’s 47-year career in Denver television and radio included stints at KUSA, KMGH, KCNC and KOA Radio.

DENVER — Ed Greene has decided to retire from Denver media, for good. 

On Friday, July 25, Greene announced his retirement during his final appearance on 9NEWS Mornings.

Greene has been a part of 9NEWS Mornings since 2021 where he kept the community informed about important weather events while delighting viewers with his unique sense of humor.

Greene’s 47-year career in Denver television and radio included stints at KUSA, KMGH, KCNC and KOA Radio. 

Greene’s first appearance on 9NEWS was during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta.

He then moved to KCNC in 2001 before retiring, for the first time, in 2017 after 42 years in Denver television. At the time that was the longest tenure of any on-air broadcast personality in Denver television broadcast history.

During his 9NEWS goodbye Friday, Greene passed his weather clicker to Chris Bianchi who will be the new 9NEWS Impact Weather Team meteorologist for 9NEWS Mornings.
