Investigators are looking for a 5-year-old boy whose mom was killed in southwestern Colorado earlier this month.

CORTEZ, Colo. — The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office are looking for missing 5-year-old Helliono Martinez, weeks after his mother was found dead in her Pagosa Springs home.

Investigators said an Endangered Missing Alert was issued for Helliono on July 18. Investigators are concerned for the boy’s well-being, and are seeking the public’s help in finding him.

Helliono was last seen on July 16 around 1:30 p.m. with his father, Charles Martinez, 43, in a gold Dodge Ram. Investigators said they were heading to Martinez’s home on Highway 160 in Cortez. Investigators have located the truck, but haven’t been able to locate the boy or his father.

The same day, Colorado’s Department of Human Services obtained a court order granting the state emergency custody of Helliono. CBI said Martinez does not have custody of the boy.

Helliono’s mother, Chrystal Snow, was found shot to death in her home in Pagosa Springs on the morning of July 2.

Hours later, investigators found Helliono with an aunt in Cortez.

CBI previously said they believe Snow was killed in a “targeted” shooting and they have identified “persons of interest,” but no arrests have been made.

Anyone who has seen Helliono or Martinez is asked to call 911, or call the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office at 970-565-8452.
