Jose Noe Ulloa-Martinez turned himself in and is now charged with first-degree assault.
Around 10 p.m. that night, Commerce City police said a group of people were walking through a field in the 7000 block of East 64th Avenue to watch fireworks when a driver intentionally hit two men in the group.
In an update on Facebook, police said the victims are brothers who are expected to recover.
The vehicle involved in the crash was recovered the night of the crash in Aurora. On Wednesday, police announced that Jose Noe Ulloa-Martinez had turned himself in.
Prosecutors have since charged Ulloa-Martinez with the following:
- First-degree assault
- Second-degree assault
- Leaving the scene of an accident
- Vehicular assault
Ulloa-Martinez is next due in court on July 31.
