Man Utd almost signed Martinez

Manchester United came close to signing Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez before ultimately opting for Andre Onana last year, according to the Argentina international’s agent.

David de Gea left the Red Devils at the end of 2022/23 season, forcing the Red Devils to look for a new stopper.

Last year he was very close to Manchester United, the coach chose Onana, because he already knew him.

But everyone at Manchester United later maintained that the ideal goalkeeper to win was Emiliano Martínez.

Desire Doue transfer war

Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham are looking to immediately sign Rennes wonderkid Desire Doue.

SunSport understand United, the Blues and Spurs have been embroiled in a major bidding war for Doue’s signature during the summer transfer window.

However, the Premier League trio are facing stiff competition from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain for the France Under-21 international.

The versatile winger is a “top priority” for both Chelsea and Tottenham, who have already held talks with the player’s camp as well as Rennes.

Negotiations are still “ongoing” between the Prem giants and the teenage sensation as well as his club.

Both London rivals are so keen on the Frenchman that they want a deal to be sealed by the end of the week.

Liverpool signing Chelsea talent

Liverpool are close to signing Chelsea prospect Rio Ngumoha, who is leaving the academy.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Ngumoha is set to move to Anfield.

In fact, the Reds are set to break their historical wage structure for the 15-year-old.

The deal for the young winger will be completed soon.

Kepa wanted by Saudi club

Chelsea ace Kepa Arrizabalaga has a “significant offer” on the table to leave Stamford Bridge.

Kepa has now entered the final 12 months of the deal he signed after making his world record £72.1million move to the Blues in 2018 from Athletic Bilbao.

According to Marca, the goalkeeper has a “significant offer” from a Saudi Pro League club.

The same source claims Al-Ittihad are willing to pay the Spain international a whopping salary to move to them.

But the 29-year-old is determined not to rush into anything and he has allegedly asked for time before making a decision.

Kepa is believed to be waiting to see whether he receives other proposals while debating what life would be like in the Middle East for him and his family.

Jobe Bellingham to stay at Sunderland

Jobe Bellingham will stay at Sunderland despite interest from several Premier League clubs.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Bellingham will remain at the Stadium of Light for at least one more season.

Crystal Palace have been pushing to sign the playmaker “for weeks”.

However, Jude Bellingham’s brother wants to see out the Black Cats’ “ambitious project”.

Marc Guehi leaving

Marc Guehi is set to reject the offer of new contract at Crystal Palace leaving the club likely to lose their biggest three stars this summer.

Palace had been hoping to keep hold of Guehi for at least one more season, as they have already sold Michael Olise to Bayern Munich and Eberechi Eze has a £60million release clause, which Tottenham and Manchester City are willing to trigger.

The England defender has just two years left on his contract at Selhurst Park however, and without persuading him to sign a new deal Palace may be forced to cash in.

Palace want Guehi to sign a new contract which would include a release clause when he returns from the European Championship, but SunSport has learned he has no intention of doing so.

The 23-year-old is understood to be keen to explore his options this summer amidst interest from Manchester United, who have noted the ease with which he has adopted to playing as England’s left-sided centre-back in Germany despite being right footed.

Given Guehi has less than two years left on his contract Palace’s negotiating position is less strong and he is likely to be a cheaper option.
