Police said it happened outside a shopping center at East Mississippi Avenue and South Peoria Street Saturday night.

AURORA, Colo. — A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a shooting in Aurora Saturday night.

The Aurora Police Department said in a release that officers responded to a shopping center at the northeast corner of East Mississippi Avenue and South Peoria Street just before 8 p.m. for a shooting.

They found the victim, a 21-year-old man, in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with what police said are life-threatening injuries.

No one is in custody. Police do not know whether the shooter and the victim know each other.

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
