3 victims shot in Aurora

Police are still investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting Thursday night.

AURORA, Colo. — Three people were taken to the hospital after a shooting in Aurora Thursday night. 

The Aurora Police Department posted on social media just after 10 p.m. Thursday that officers were investigating a shooting with multiple victims in the area of East Smoky Hill Road and Quincy Avenue. 

Police later said two women and a man were shot. One of the women had life-threatening injuries. The man and the other woman had serious injuries.

Police said one person has been detained. They’re still investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting.

East Smoky Hill Road was closed in both directions between Quincy Avenue and South Evanston Street while officers investigated.

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000. 

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
