PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. — Evacuation orders were issued Monday afternoon for a wildfire burning southwest of Pueblo.
The fire, named the Oak Ridge Fire, has burned around 275 acres about three miles northwest of Beulah in Pueblo County. Fire officials said it was caused by lightning.
Around 3:30 p.m. Monday, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office issued a mandatory evacuation order for Middle Creek Canyon Road in the Beulah area.
A pre-evacuation notice was issued for residents on Vine Mesa, Cascade Avenue, Pine Avenue and Beulah Highlands Road.
The fire was first reported around 9 a.m. Saturday. It burned about 1.5 acres by 1 p.m. Sunday. By 2 p.m. Monday, it had grown to 30 acres. It was most recently mapped at 275 acres, with no containment.
