ARVADA, Colo. — 9NEWS obtained 911 calls from Jeffcom 911 from the day of a fatal plane crash in Arvada on June 7.

The Federal Aviation Administration’s investigation is complete for the plane crash, allowing Jeffcom 911 to release the recordings.

The National Transportation Safety Board said the plane took off from Centennial Airport toward Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield on June 7, 2024.

Shortly before the crash, the pilot told air traffic control his oil light was on, the plane was losing pressure, and he needed a place to land the plane. The NTSB said the pilot ended up coming down on Oberon Road, and skidded down the street until the plane landed in the front lawn of a home and caught fire.

The NTSB said the man, woman and two boys inside the plane when it came down went to the hospital. Melissa Brinkman died the next day, identified by her family. According to social media posts from the family, a 13-year-old boy in the plane known as TO, spent three weeks in the hospital. His family said he’s back to walking, talking and laughing.
