DENVER — Spring has arrived in Colorado with warm temperatures, blooming flowers, robins and bees. This March weekend brings more outdoor events, plus some great expos, shows and sporting events.

Denver Home Show
DENVER — The 36th annual Denver Home Show runs Friday through Sunday at the National Western Complex. This weekend’s show will feature more than 270 experts in kitchens and baths, flooring, windows, cabinetry and décor. Attendees can get tips to breathe new life into their homes with advice from HGTV stars and twin sisters Leslie Davis and Lyndsay Lamb of “Unsellable Houses.” Features will include PETopia for all things pet-related, the Made in Colorado Marketplace, glamping and the annual Sogetsu Ikebana Flower Display.

Longmont Home Show
LONGMONT — Ready for some home inspiration? The Longmont Home Show will provide the opportunity to get ideas for home renovations while meeting vendors and suppliers. You’ll find the latest in design trends, remodeling, automation and outdoor living. The Longmont Home Show will be held at the Boulder County Fairgrounds Friday through Sunday.

COLORADO — Spring has arrived in Colorado with bees, robins, bunnies and baseball. Although Easter arrives next weekend, lots of egg hunts are planned across Colorado this weekend. Here’s a list of some of the Easter egg hunts we’ve found across Colorado. Don’t forget to bring a bucket or basket.

Noises Off
ARVADA — The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities’ final production of the season is the comedy “Noises Off.” Get ready for barely-controlled chaos and flying sardines in this play that takes a trip behind-the-scenes of a flop of a play and shows what happens when everything that can go wrong does. “Noises Off” plays the Main Stage Theatre through May 5.

The Music Man
LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Cultural Center and Performance Now Theatre Company present Meredith Willson’s six-time Tony Award-winning musical comedy “The Music Man.” The musical comedy follows a fast-talking traveling salesman as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize, even though he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. Performances of “The Music Man” are offered on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. with matinees on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. “The Music Man” plays the Lakewood Cultural Center through Sunday, April 7.

The Wizard of Oz
EVERGREEN — Ovation West Performing Arts has opened its new production of “The Wizard of Oz.” A retelling of everyone’s favorite classic movie, the new production is directed by Tim Kennedy and will be performed Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through Sunday, April 7, at Center Stage in Evergreen. Tickets are on sale at OvationWest.org.

Disney on Ice
COLORADO SPRINGS — Disney magic travels to Colorado Springs this weekend with “Disney on Ice: Mickey’s Search Party.” The family-friendly show brings Disney stories to life through world-class ice skating. “Mickey’s Search Party” features characters from “Toy Story,” “Coco,” “Moana,” “Frozen,” “Aladdin” and more. Disney on Ice plays Colorado Springs’ Broadmoor World Arena for seven performances Thursday to Sunday. Get your tickets at AXS.com.

Repticon
AURORA — Reptile and exotic pet lovers, breeders and educators won’t want to miss this weekend’s Repticon. The family-oriented event offers guests the opportunity to learn about animals not normally seen in local stores. Guests can shop for a new family pet among the hundreds of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, spiders, and small exotic animals. Repticon also has merchandise, cages, supplies, live and frozen feeders, as well as expert advice from professionals. Repticon takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds.

Vintage Voltage Expo, Toy & Doll Supershow, Colorado Guitar Show
DENVER — Four collector shows in one are taking place this Saturday at the Crowne Plaza DIA Convention Center. The Vintage Voltage Expo, Toy & Doll Supershow, and Colorado Guitar Show are combining to take over all five bays of the convention center. Thousands of vintage and collectible toys, doll and comics from every decade and every generation will be on hand, including Barbies, tin toys, Funko, Godzilla, and Star Wars. The show will have hundreds of vintage stereos, turntables, antique radios, classic guitars, and thousands of vinyl records.

Blue Jackets/Penguins vs. Colorado Avalanche
DENVER — The red-hot Colorado Avalanche are back home at Ball Arena. The Avs face the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7 p.m. Friday. The Pittsburgh Penguins will face the Avs in a 12 p.m. noon game on Sunday.
Rochester Knighthawks vs. Colorado Mammoth
DENVER — Between the two Avalanche games this weekend, Ball Arena will host the Colorado Mammoth on Saturday night. The Mammoth and Rochester Knighthawks play Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $32 for the Party Zone.

Houston Dynamo FC vs. Colorado Rapids
COMMERCE CITY — Dick’s Sporting Goods Park hosts Major League Soccer this weekend. The Colorado Rapids and Houston Dynamo FC meet at at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Match tickets start at $20 at Ticketmaster.com.

Rocky Mountain Roller Derby
DENVER — Rocky Mountain Roller Derby’s Fight Club hosts their first home bout of the season against Cheyenne Roller Derby’ Capidolls. Come on down to the Rollerdome to check out the hard-hitting action of top skaters and stick around to check out the newest School of Rocky graduates in a positional exposition. Doors open at 5 p.m. at The Rollerdome at 2375 S. Delaware St. Tickets are available online or at the door.

The Improvised Shakespeare Company
DENVER — The Improvised Shakespeare Company is back at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts’ Garner Galleria Theatre. Each night, the company will create a fully improvised Shakespearean masterpiece right before the audience’s eyes. The evening of hilarious off-the-cuff comedy uses the language and themes of William Shakespeare, but with no planning, rehearsal or script. Will the play turn out to be a tragedy, comedy or history? Even the actors aren’t sure. Tickets for the company’s engagement, which runs through Sunday, April 28, are sold at DenverCenter.org.

Orcas: Our Shared Future
DENVER — The Denver Museum of Nature & Science has opened its newest temporary exhibition: “Orcas: Our Share Future.” The exhibition traces the evolution of our beliefs about orcas, from fear to admiration and awe, as we discover their intelligence and complex social structures. At the exhibition, visitors will see a life-sized replica of an orca family, inviting guests to witness their harmonies in an immersive underwater environment. Guests will also learn about the Indigenous peoples of North America’s Northwest Coast, whose respect for orcas is reflected in their art and traditions.
Cities of the Future
DENVER — “Cities of the Future” is the newest film to open at the giant screen Infinity Theater at Denver Museum of Nature & Science. “Cities of the Future” invites viewers into a new world of innovation and exploration to address the challenges of a changing planet. The film highlights technological breakthroughs such as electric autonomous vehicles and aerial highways, solar energy beamed down from space and smart buildings and greener infrastructure. Narrated by John Krasinski, “Cities of the Future” will energize kids and adults to think about engineering as a way to help the world.

Movies this weekend
“Kung Fu Panda 4” and “Dune: Part Two” have brought life to the North American box office, nearly tying at the top of the charts last weekend.
“Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” arrives in theaters this weekend, armed with proton packs and brand name recognition. Next weekend brings “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” to theaters.
