CUSTER COUNTY, Colorado — Three people were killed in a shooting in Custer County in southern Colorado Monday, 9NEWS partner KRDO reports.
The Custer County Sheriff told KRDO the victims were two men and a woman. A fourth person was injured, the sheriff said.
In a news conference Monday night, the sheriff said the situation likely started with a property dispute between neighbors. Law enforcement spent much of the day in a standoff with the suspect in the area of Rocky Ridge Road, a rural area northeast of Westcliffe.
Just before 2:30 p.m., the sheriff’s office sent out an emergency alert asking people in the area to lock down and shelter in place. Around 8:15 p.m., they issued an all-clear. KRDO reports law enforcement are still searching for the suspect Monday night.
This is a developing situation. This article will be updated as information is confirmed.
