2 people trapped in trench off Cherry Creek Trail in Centennial

Crews with South Metro Fire Rescue are working to shore the sides of the trench and rescue both people.

CENTENNIAL, Colo. — Crews with South Metro Fire Rescue are working to rescue two people from a trench in Centennial.

Both were trapped inside the trench at a construction site on the Cherry Creek Trail near South Parker Road and East Broncos Parkway, South Metro Fire said in a social media post.

The agency said their technical rescue team is on the scene and that both people are stuck in a trench that is 10 feet wide and five feet deep and 75 feet long. Crews are working to shore the sides of the trench and rescue both people.

One of the people has minor injuries. No details about the other person were provided.
