Police said one of the victims, a teen, had life-threatening injuries.

AURORA, Colo. — Two people were shot and injured outside an Aurora convenience store early Friday, according to police.

The Aurora Police Department said officers responded to a shooting outside a 7-Eleven near East Hampden Avenue and South Chambers Road just before 2 a.m. Friday. They learned that two people had started a confrontation inside the store and moved outside. The confrontation escalated, leading to an exchange of gunfire.

A woman and a teenage boy were both hit, police said. They were taken to a hospital.

Police said the woman’s injuries were serious but she is expected to recover. The teen’s injuries were considered life-threatening.

It wasn’t clear whether the victims were involved in the confrontation, but the victims and the shooters did not know one another, police said. No information about the shooters has been released.
