DENVER — One person is in custody after another person was killed in a shooting outside of a Denver Rescue Mission shelter Monday night, the Denver Police Department said.
Police said the shooting happened around 8 p.m. outside the shelter in the area of 48th Avenue and Dahlia Street in the Northeast Park Hill neighborhood. Police said two people got into a fight, and one of them shot the other.
It’s unclear if either of the people involved were associated with the shelter in any way.
Police said the victim died on the scene. That person’s name has not yet been released.
Police said one person is in custody in connection with the shooting.
