1 killed, 3 injured in overnight Aurora shootings

Police do not believe the shootings at an apartment complex on East 4th Avenue and a nightclub parking lot on East Colfax Avenue are related.

AURORA, Colo. — Aurora Police are investigating two shootings early Sunday morning that killed one person and injured three others.

The first shooting was reported in the 13700 block of East 4th Avenue. Two people were taken or self-transported to the hospital, and one person was taken into custody.

The second shooting was reported around 1:45 a.m. in the parking lot of a nightclub at 11249 E. Colfax Ave.

Officers found a gunshot victim in the parking lot who was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, a 34-year-old man, self-transported to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and is expected to survive., police said.

No arrests have been made in the second shooting, and police were not able to immediately share any suspect information.

Police do not believe the two shootings are related.
